BOKU Activities Supporting Entrepreneurship
Under the umbrella of BOKU:BASE, BOKU promotes entrepreneurial thinking and action and is the contact point for innovation and entrepreneurship.
We see ourselves as a springboard for innovation, paving the way for ideas, technologies and strategies for sustainable development in society. BOKU:BASE trains responsible designers who contribute to the development of holistic solutions to societal challenges.
Our offer covers three areas:
Education & Sustainable Development
BOKU offers students a targeted range of courses to support them in implementing their project ideas.
In addition to a focus on the implementation of sustainable ideas and the development of start-ups, we cooperate with other universities to promote inter- and transdisciplinary teams and ideas.
Furthermore, promising projects have the opportunity to use our co-working space and network with our community – both internally and externally.
Research & Intellectual Property
We are the first point of contact for intellectual property (IP) matters such as invention disclosures, patent & license management of the research results generated by the researchers.
In addition, we enable researchers to turn their ideas and innovations into careers.
We support them in founding start-ups and spin-offs and accompany them from an exciting research project to a commercially active and market-oriented company.
Labs & Infrastructure
The provision of laboratory space and premises at our Türkenschanze, Muthgasse and Tulln sites is intended to specifically promote the prototyping and testing of new ideas and products.
With the Core Facilities, BOKU provides state-of-the-art equipment such as instruments and large-scale devices.
Start-up teams can optimize ideas and scientific findings here and develop them to market maturity.
